The Niro is the efficient value pick: it starts below the Corolla Cross Hybrid and beats it by 8 mpg, and its powertrain warranty runs twice as long. The Prius gets better mileage, and both Toyotas have more power and offer AWD. Want more room and AWD? The 2027 Niro is sold only as a hybrid. Kia dropped the Niro Plug-In Hybrid after the 2025 model year, and kia.com still lists the Niro EV as a 2026 model; Kia America hasn't announced a 2027 Niro EV.
